Full body experiences
As part of my performative practice I have created a series of works in which I address issues related to the role of an artist as a labourer, referencing concepts like interchangeability, the mundane and the consistent repetition of simple actions.
In these pieces, I work with space and time as materials, which through their physical qualities of constraint and duration, define and shape these performances, as a result of the actions that I undertake. Questioning concepts like agency and identity into I endeavour to open a dialogue about the current role of the artist in the production of artworks.
The use of identical boiler suits through all the pieces in this series, connects and gathers them into a group. Thanks to these garments, my body is referenced as an extension of myself, which as an artist, I use as a tool and as the material to engage with my practice, physically performing an action.
